We Must Unite.

Please read this great blog post by itsallabouththeprophets. “I want to take action but where is the coalition of disabled people?”

And this one, written shortly after the election, by Stilleto Wheels: “Disability Ghetto 2010”.

They both tackle a common theme discussed many disabled people I encounter at the moment. How best to challenge these cuts, when none of the parties or charities seem to be able to represent us effectively?

They all have their own interests. Who is really speaking out for us, and defending us at this time?

We need to come together as disabled people, regardless of our disability or political leanings.

We must unite. We cannot rely on others to speak for us. We must speak for ourselves.
